Frequently Asked Questions

Where do I report copiers not working?
If a copy machine in your area is in need of repair, contact x6596. Our technician is available to get your machine up and running quickly to avoid any inconvenience to you.

How do I get a refund?
Refunds may be given when a copier jams or malfunctions. The Gumberg Library and Law Library will refund your money at the front desk. If this problem occurs in other public access areas, please contact x6596. We are sorry that we are unable to grant a refund due to user error.

Our copier needs have grown. Can I get a larger model?
Please direct your request to x6596. We will examine your usage and future needs in an effort to provide your department with the best copier with features suited to your daily office as well as budgetary needs.

I keep getting phone calls from people telling me I need toner or other copier supplies. What should I do?
This ploy is often used to scam unsuspecting people into buying toners that often exceed contract prices by as much as 500%. Remember, the university does not order toner. We are on an auto-replenishing program through our current copier vendor. The best thing to do is tell them you are not authorized to purchase toner and transfer them to x6596. More than likely they will just hang up. Don’t agree to accept any "free" samples as a huge invoice usually follows.

Help, my ID or card is stuck in the card reader.
Contact x6596 and our technician will be over quickly to retrieve your card. If you cannot wait or if the tech happens to be involved with a repair, your card will be left at the department’s main desk or brought back to Support Services. It is important to avoid using cards with cracks, bends or holes in them as this will cause them to get stuck in the machines and wipe off value.
